Following massive protests in Germany against unreasonably harsh quarantine measures due to COVID, the country's largest media weekly Der Spiegel stated that German Christians are enemies of democracy and the fight against coronavirus.
The publication is outraged that churches in East Germany are still well filled, reports Tsargrad TV.
The new Law on Infectious Protection of the Population, adopted by the German parliament, expands the powers of the German Ministry of Health, which can now introduce any lockdowns, based on its vision and WHO recommendations.
The law also contains a list of measures such as restrictions on social contacts (such as calling on one's parents, for example) and the closure of educational institutions.
A lot of Germans opposed this law: first, they wrote letters to parliament, compared the restrictions with fascism, and then went out to protest rallies, which the police dispersed with the use of water cannons given non-observance of social distance by the protesters.
The German Der Spiegel edition stated on its pages that although during the GDR times in East Germany everything that was ecclesiastical was "polished", a very active conservative-Protestant communal life was preserved.
The media urges politicians to ignore the protests of Christians, because they only interfere with the implementation of "correct policies".
As reported by the UOJ, the Ukrainian government can close churches at Christmas and only temporarily restrict the work of entertainment establishments.
