Archpriest Dimitriy Sydor, 69, rector of the Holy Cross Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Uzhhorod, received a summons to the army, according to which he must "immediately" report to the local military recruitment centre. He said this during a sermon published on the cathedral's YouTube channel.

The elderly priest showed the summons and noted with bewilderment that the military officer obliged him to report to the TCC "immediately": "What does the military officer want?” asks the priest. “If, for example, to deregister, you could have written that at a convenient time. But they wrote that it was necessary to report immediately.

As reported, Archpriest Dimitriy Sydor said that no one but the UOC offers peaceful religious coexistence in Ukraine.
