Zelensky participates in interfaith moleben at Lavra’s Dormition Cathedral

On 25 November 2023, the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor, an ecumenical prayer service was held at the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra with the participation of all denominations except the UOC. The event was broadcast by Channel 24.
The event was attended by the first persons of the state: Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, commanders and heads of military and law enforcement agencies.
Zelensky and his spouse stood in the centre of the Dormition Cathedral. Olena Zelenska crossed herself during the prayers.
After the event, the participants visited the National Holodomor-Genocide Museum.
The procession was also attended by Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics, Swiss President Alain Berset and Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Shimonite.
As reported, during the vote in the Rada on the UOC ban, the MPs were written in chats that this was Zelensky’s demand.
Earlier, His Beatitude Onuphry addressed Ukrainians on Holodomor Remembrance Day.
