Residence of UOC hierarch in Kherson damaged again by shelling

On December 12, 2023, the residence of the ruling hierarch of the Kherson Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church suffered once again from artillery strikes by Russian forces in Kherson. This was reported by the eparchial press service.

The statement mentions that shells and fragments damaged buildings and the territory of the hierarchal compound.

In the photos published by the press service, a crater from a projectile is visible in the courtyard of the residence, scattered debris from structures across the territory, walls of buildings damaged by fragments, a collapsed ceiling in one of the rooms, and shattered windows.

As it was previously reported, the residence of the Kherson Metropolitan had already come under fire on the nights of February 19-20, June 22, and the night of July 4-5, 2023.

On October 2, 2023, the Holy Spirit Cathedral and the administrative building of the Kherson Eparchy of the UOC were damaged as a result of shelling.
