Ukraine demands blockage of UOJ website upon SBU's request

In the near future, access to the UOJ website may be blocked. Photo: open sources

On December 16, 2023, the State Special Communications and Information Protection Service of Ukraine published an order stating that a number of resources, including the website of the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ), should be blocked in Ukraine. The document is available on the website of the National Commission for Communications. The blocking is carried out in response to the request of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Readers are already sending messages to the UOJ editorial office, reporting that the website is inaccessible through some Ukrainian providers. We anticipate that, as an undesired media outlet, we will be blocked entirely. We will do everything possible to remain in the online space of our country. However, we advise readers now that if there are issues accessing the UOJ, use anonymizers (VPN).

Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to a statement from the Department of Justice, the SBU is fueling religious discord and hatred against the UOC.
