On March 21, 2021, in the First Week of Great Lent, the Triumph of Orthodoxy, the believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kharkiv held a cross procession with a prayer for peace in Ukraine, reports the press service of the Kharkiv Eparchy.

On this day, Metropolitan Onuphry of Kharkiv and Bogodukhov, concelebrated by the clergy of Kharkiv, celebrated the liturgy of St. Basil the Great and the rite of the Triumph of Orthodoxy at the Annunciation Cathedral.

At the augmented litany, the deacon made petitions for an end to the destructive epidemic, for an end to enmity and division among people, for peace and love.

After the service, the faithful walked in a procession from the Cathedral to the Holy Intercession Monastery, making prayers for peace in Ukraine. At the memorial cross in the monastery square, a prayer service was offered to the Most Holy Theotokos.

As reported earlier, the traditional religious procession on the Day of the Triumph of Orthodoxy took place in Zaporizhzhia.

In Kyiv, the cross procession of the UOC at the Triumph of Orthodoxy was postponed due to the pandemic. As the UOC Chancellor assured, the prayer procession will definitely take place as soon as the situation allows.
