A telephone conversation between Patriarch John of Antioch and Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia took place on 14 February, reports the Patriarchate of Antioch on its Facebook page.

The Primates of the Churches discussed "building bridges of unity and rapprochement between all Churches", as Patriarch John said.

The Patriarchs also noted the importance of deepening the principle of dialogue to overcome crises and wars that exhaust all of humanity. They also discussed the general state in which the Orthodox Church lives today.

Earlier, hierarchs of the Antiochian Patriarchate said that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is following the path of confession, while its members are persecuted by the authorities for their faith.
