Patriarch Kirill, at a meeting of the clergy of the Moscow Metropolis, responded to the question of whether it is permissible to admit people to communion if they participated in the "Special Military Operation" and committed killings there, according to the website of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Priest Dmitry Vydumkin told the head of the ROC that "priests often encounter soldiers in confession who have just returned from the 'SMO' zone and were directly involved in combat actions."

"What practice, in your opinion, should be adhered to regarding the admission or temporary non-admission of such servicemen to Holy Communion?" he asked Patriarch Kirill.

The Patriarch inquired, "Why is there a question about non-admission at all?"

Vydumkin clarified, "Because of their involvement in killings in the recent past."

The head of the ROC responded that "there was no problem regarding Alexander Nevsky after the Battle of the Neva River whether to admit him to communion or not."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Patriarch Kirill called on Russians to be baptized for the invincibility of Russia.
