On April 23, 2021, the headquarters of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) announced a terrorist attack being prepared for Easter in one of the temples of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. However, they did not indicate where and in which particular church.

On the official Facebook page of the headquarters, referring to intelligence data, they reported on a number of provocations against Ukraine, which in the coming days may occur in the Donbass, "while losses are not excluded even among the civilian population".

“In addition, outraged is the cynicism of the leadership of the Russian occupation forces, which planned to commit terrorist acts during the Easter service in one of the religious institutions of the Moscow Patriarchate, which can lead to massive losses among the parishioners. This will enable Russia to accuse Ukraine of disregard for moral, religious principles and genocide of its own people, as well as to send regular troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to the territory of Ukraine,” the JFO headquarters said.

As reported, Metropolitan Anthony, the UOC Chancellor, called on the parties to the conflict to make every effort to prevent an escalation in the Donbass.
