The head of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamia explained why President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky wanted to meet with Vladimir Putin in the Vatican. He said this in an interview with reporters of TG channel PavlovskyNews on Thursday, April 29.

In his opinion, the Vatican is a holy place disposed to achieve peace agreements.

It is hard to find a better country for such purposes, says Arahamia.

“Perhaps only Switzerland, because it also went through all world wars in the status of neutrality. These are the countries that are mentally even set to achieve peace,” said the head of the “Servant of the People” faction.

A meeting with the Russian President should be organized next month, the deputy said.

As reported earlier, Vladimir Zelensky proposed to hold a meeting with Putin in the Vatican, calling it "an ideal place for a dialogue about peace in the Donbass". This statement was commented on by the Vatican officials, stating that they are ready to help in the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine within the framework of the Minsk group.
