Robert Amsterdam, the head of the international law firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP and lawyer for the UOC, published a video on his X after the House of Representatives passed a bill allocating about $61 billion in aid to Ukraine.
"We're filming this minutes after the House has passed the Ukrainian aid package," the lawyer wrote. "We waited because we did not want to interfere with the passage of that bill through the House, but we feel that it is now of urgent importance, as this attack on Christians in Ukraine mounts in its severity."
Robert Amsterdam stressed that the ongoing attempt to "destroy this thousand-year-old Church is based on the principle of 'divide and conquer', which has no place in a free and democratic society."
"This aid package has come through. Let's not use American money to target Christians, steal churches, and destroy the religious way of life," the international human rights defender urged in conlcusion.
As the UOJ wrote, Amsterdam stated that the authorities in Ukraine gave $3.5 million to U.S. lobbyists to destroy the UOC.
