The district court in Khmelnytskyi found Ihor Slobodian, a subdeacon of the Holy Protection Cathedral in Khmelnytskyi, guilty of assaulting Arthur Ananyev in the temple, reports Suspilne.

The court verdict stated that Ihor Slobodian was guilty of causing Arthur Ananyev, at that time a serviceman dismissed from the AFU, and now an active military officer, intentional minor bodily harm resulting in temporary health disorder or minor loss of ability to work (a misdemeanor under Article 125 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Slobodian was sentenced to one year and six months of probation, during which he must report any changes in his employment to the police and participate in probationary measures aimed at overcoming aggressive behavior.

"The court orders to recover from Ihor Dmytrovych Slobodian in favour of Arthur Oleksandrovych Ananyev the amount of 37,924.80 hryvnias as compensation for material damage and 50,000 hryvnias as compensation for moral harm, totaling 87,924.80 hryvnias," the court verdict states.

In addition, Ihor Slobodian will be required to cover the expenses for Arthur Ananyev's hospital treatment, his utility bills during his treatment period, and the court fee.

As reported, earlier Ihor Slobodian, the subdeacon who beat up the serviceman, explained how the events that led to the seizure of the cathedral in Khmelnytskyi actually took place.
