Kyiv residents, clergy of Kyiv, and believers from various dioceses bring flowers to the site of the destroyed Tithe Cathedral in Kyiv, dedicated to the Equal-to-the-Apostles Princes Volodymyr and Olga. Photos and videos from the scene are being published by Orthodox communities.
The Information and Enlightenment Department reports that "throughout the day, hierarchs, priests, and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church come to the place where the divine temple stood before. They bring flowers and candles with them to lay them at the site of the destroyed holy altar. Those present at the ruins pray and sing Easter hymns."
The Save Lavra Telegram channel published a video with believers who came to the destroyed sanctuary.
A parishioner of the UOC expressed words of support to the grieving brotherhood, and another parishioner expressed hope that the temple would be restored.
Clergy, along with believers, marched in a procession around the place where the church stood.
As reported by the UOJ, UOC lawyer Archpriest Nikita Chekman stated that the overnight demolition of the Tithe Monastery was illegal because no documents regarding the dismantling of the shrine were attached to the Unified Enforcement Proceedings Register.
Earlier, Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv called for bringing flowers to the site of the demolished Tithe Cathedral.
