On May 30, 2021, in the village of Moshkov, Rivne region, the vicar of the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC, Bishop Pimen of Dubno, laid a foundation stone and erected a cross at the construction site of a new UOC temple instead of the one seized by OCU raiders, reports a UOJ correspondent.

On this day, despite the downpour, many believers of the canonical Church came to the solemn event.

Believers of the UOC in the village of Moshkov began the construction of a new St. Michael Church in the autumn of 2020. The plot for the new church was bought at the expense of donations raised by the entire religious community. The building materials were bought by the patron Andrey Biba and the “Favor” Charitable Foundation.

“I am infinitely grateful to everyone who helped us in the construction. The money was raised by people from neighbouring eparchies, transferred to the card,” said Priest Andrei Muliar, the rector of the Archangel Michael parish of vlg. Moshkov.

We recall that after the seizure of the church in the village of Moshkov by the supporters of the OCU in June 2019, the believers of the canonical Church found themselves in a very difficult situation, they were forced to serve for a long time in a tent, and then in an old house provided by a local woman.

“Today I can say with confidence that the UOC community in this village was preserved by its rector, Father Andrey, a very young priest. He has two small children and very little experience of pastoral ministry. Despite this, he managed to endure all the church wars in the village, to consolidate and unite his flock to serve God,” said Bishop Pimen of Dubno.

As reported, Bishop Pimen consecrated a new church of the persecuted UOC community in vlg. Pevche.
