Metropolitan Pimen, the European Metropolitan of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, stated that he does not understand why his Church does not recognize the structure of Epifaniy Dumenko.

In an interview with Sitel Televizija Channel, Metropolitan Pimen, responding to a question about why the Macedonian Church has such a firm position on recognizing the OCU, stated that he does not know and finds it incomprehensible why this position is so rigid.

"Perhaps everything happening in the world right now is sympathy, perhaps towards the Russian Church. Otherwise, I do not understand why they have such a tough attitude," the hierarch said.

According to him, "the recognition of the OCU comes from the same source from which the recognition of our Church came."

"Then why should we create commissions to examine the possibility, correctness, and justification of such a decision?" the hierarch asked.

Earlier, it was reported that the Macedonian Church refused to concelebrate with the OCU.

Later, it became known that the Patriarchate of Constantinople does not recognize the autocephaly of the Macedonian Church because of the OCU, and the Patriarchate of Constantinople is very disappointed with the position of the Macedonian Orthodox Church regarding the OCU.

Also, the head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church stated that the conditions for the Tomos from the Phanar are unacceptable.
