After the Divine Liturgy at the Bancheny Monastery, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry thanked the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, for his visit and joint prayer. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

"We sincerely thank our dear guest, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, for his visit, holy prayers, and for the blessing he has brought for our Church and our people," said the Archbishop.

His Beatitude noted that today both the war-affected people of Ukraine and the people of America, who are facing their own trials, are taking a certain exam.

"The joint prayer that was offered today in this sanctuary is the strength through which we overcome all difficulties. We prayed for the Lord to put an end to the war in our country. For those warring against us to stop, and for peace to come. For every brother to see his brother. For a mother to see her son alive and well. For children to see their father. For there to be joy in the Lord. For us to see that God protects and blesses our land," he said.

The Primate of the UOC, on behalf of all believers, invoked God's assistance and blessing for His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon in all paths of his ministry and life, and also prayed that the Lord, through the holy prayers of its Primate, would bless the entire Orthodox Church in America.

As the UOJ reported, Metropolitan Onuphry spoke about the purpose of the visit of the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America to Ukraine.
