In Bulgaria, the political party "Revival" ("Възраждане") has once again called on the president to convene the Consultative Council on National Security in connection with the election of the Patriarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the alleged attempts by the USA to interfere in these elections, reports Trudnews.
Politicians complain that Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has not responded for a week to their previous message on the same issue, while the Patriarchal elections are in full swing.
"The role of the USA in this process of taking over the Bulgarian Orthodox Church is obvious. It is evident that it is being carried out with the kind consent of the Ecumenical Patriarch and some Bulgarian metropolitans and hierarchs who violated the canon and served together with schismatics in Turkey," the party stated.
The Revival wrote that the Bulgarian government and the BOC are following the Ukrainian scenario, which leads to a schism and then to war.
"If we want to assess what the consequences of this schism will be, each of us can carefully look into the schism in the Ukrainian church, with persecutions and physical attacks on priests there."
As previously reported, the Bulgarian party "Revival" on June 7 demanded that the president convene a Security Council meeting, as they suspect the USA of interfering in the Patriarchal elections.
