Mykyta Poturaev, the head of the Committee on Humanitarian Policy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and a member of the "Servant of the People" party, stated that he does not understand why some deputies have not put their signatures in support of bringing bill No. 8371 to the session hall for voting, reports the Left Bank resource.
"As the head of the relevant committee, I hope that by the next plenary session (no earlier than the second week of July – Ed.) the number of signatories will increase. Honestly, I am surprised at the absence of signatures from people who, for example, supported the bill in the first reading," he said.
It is worth reminding that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has so far been unable to gather the necessary number of votes from MPs to bring bill No. 8371 aimed at banning the UOC to a vote in the second reading. The MPs lobbying for the bill need to gather 240 votes.
As reported by the UOJ, Poturaev previously urged pressure on MPs to compel them to support the ban on the UOC.
