The head of the Vinnytsia Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Varsonofy of Vinnytsia and Bar, visited the St. Prince Alexander Nevsky Church in Vinnytsia, which the UOC community, which has refused to move to the OCU, is refurbishing for religious needs, reports the press service of the Vinnytsia Eparchy.
The bishop was accompanied by the spokesperson for the eparchy, Archimandrite Arkady (Senchukovsky), the dean of the 1st city district, Archpriest Bogdan Malinovsky, and the rector of the church, Archpriest Viktor Parandiuk.
At the beginning of 2019, the UOC community headed by Fr. Viktor Parandiuk lost St. Prince Alexander Nevsky Church, which was on the territory of the Higher Professional School of the Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In accordance with the law on Church renaming, the believers were expelled after their categorical refusal to go into schism.
In order to preserve the community and continue the services, Fr. Viktor borrowed 50 thousand dollars and bought a land plot with a house, which was equipped as a temple. In July of the same year, the first liturgy was performed there, and over time, the work of the Sunday school was resumed.
The work on the refurbishment of the temple continues, and now the believers are planning to make the altar larger.
The Vinnytsia Eparchy asks to support the Alexander Nevsky community in Vinnytsia.
You can transfer donations to the rector's card: 5168 7427 1977 5573 (Viktor Parandiuk).
As reported earlier, Metropolitan Varsonofy consecrated dome crosses for a new church in the village of Shevchenko.
