Member of Parliament Yevhen Shevchenko reported that his colleague Mykyta Poturaev, still a "political nobody" from Truskavets, plans to submit a bill to the parliament tomorrow to ban the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Poturaev has already sent letters to faction leaders demanding the immediate submission of the bill for a vote.
Media outlets note that Poturaev may be among those whom the US plans to sanction for violating religious rights and freedoms.
"Every politician wants to go down in history. Each has their own path. And God's judgment is for each their own. God be his judge," Shevchenko added in his statement.
As the UOJ reported earlier, Poturaev was surprised by the absence of certain signatures in support of bill 8371.
