Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Practical Philosophy at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Andriy Baumeister, sarcastically commented on the Ukrainian government's initiatives aimed at strengthening "spiritual independence" and "national unity" in his Facebook post.

Baumeister sarcastically remarked that to achieve "spiritual independence", one must "ban, ban, and ban again". He also spoke out against the idea of creating a special state institution responsible for "national unity", noting sarcastically again that it "will unite fully, overwhelmingly."

"In addition, to raise the level of patriotism, we need to teach a 'Ukrainian-centric' history in schools. This is to avoid any 'rootless cosmopolitanism'. The ancients said that history is the teacher of life. No, history teaches us to love our homeland only," he concluded.

Baumeister added that the inventive minds of political activists may not stop there.

Concluding his post, the philosopher proposed an ironic new holiday: "I propose we introduce a new holiday: the Day of Spiritual Independence."

As reported by the Union of Orthodox Journalists, on August 20, Zelensky praised the "work of the Verkhovna Rada", stating that "a law on our spiritual independence has been passed," and he announced intentions to "further strengthen Ukraine and our society."
