UOC hierarch expresses condolences over missile strike on Lutsk

On 26 August 2024, Metropolitan Nathanael of Volyn and Lutsk expressed his condolences in connection with a Russian missile strike on Lutsk, reports the press service of the Volyn Eparchy.
Vladyka Nathanael noted the consequences of the strike, stressing that “as of 12 noon it is known about five injured and one dead”.
The Metropolitan also stated that in the churches of the Volyn Eparchy of the UOC, daily ‘”prayers are offered to the Lord for the victory of Ukrainian troops in the war against the Russian aggressor, for the souls of the fallen soldiers and for strength and health for our courageous soldiers who are at the front”.
“On this difficult day, I express my sincere condolences to the family of the deceased, the injured, as well as words of support to all those who suffered because of this enemy attack!” Metropolitan Nathanael stated.
At the end of his address, he urged the faithful to enhance prayers.
As reported, the UOC cathedral in Sumy prayed for the victims of the Russian air strike on the city.
