According to a ruling by the investigative judge of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv dated 25 March 2024, a complaint by representatives of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was upheld. The investigator of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) in Kyiv was ordered to enter information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (ERDR) and begin a pre-trial investigation into the criminal offence committed by the People's Deputy of Ukraine, Ivan Krulko, under Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – incitement of interreligious hatred, reports the UOC lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, on his Telegram channel.

He published a link to the transcript of the speech made by the deputy from the "Batkivschyna" (“Fatherland”) faction from the Verkhovna Rada rostrum regarding the adoption of Bill No. 8371.

"This law is not about the issue of praying or where to pray. This law is about finally cleansing Ukraine of pro-Moscow FSB scum who are doing everything here to ensure Moscow's victory. Our task as the Ukrainian parliament is not to play with half-measures," Krulko said in particular.

As reported by the UOJ, a criminal case was opened against the head of the "Holos" party for inciting religious hatred.
