On Wednesday, September 4th, an attempt is planned to seize the Dormition of the Mother of God parish of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in Zolotonosha, according to reports on social media.

On September 1st, OCU cleric Roman Lychak created a Facebook page for the community, published photos of the church, and added the OCU designation to it. However, the next day, apparently after the situation was highlighted on social media, the page was deleted.

Lychak has already managed to re-register the Orthodox parish under the OCU, appointing himself as its director.

Reports indicate that Lychak privately warned UOC dean, Archpriest Serhiy Snopko, to remove all church belongings by Wednesday and not to attempt to gather people, threatening violence.

As the UOJ previously reported, raiders in camouflage seized a UOC church in Pryutivka.
