The founder of the Mogilnitskiy and Partners law firm, Maxim Mogilnitskiy, advised the Ukrainian state agents, who met Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, “as if he were not a religious hierarch, but the head of state,” to look into the Constitution of Ukraine.
“After all, the Constitution Day was celebrated quite recently. You could at least open it in honor of the holiday,” the lawyer addressed the officials in his tg-channel.
He recalled that according to the Constitution in Ukraine, the Church is separated from the state.
“And why would there have to be suddenly such servility? Maybe they promised him something? A rich temple with a cozy veranda, a garden and a view of the Dnieper as a summer residence? What did Pan Bartholomew do for Ukraine?" asked the lawyer.
In his opinion, the head of Phanar has been pushing Ukraine for a full-scale religious war for several years already, "and our leadership condones this nightmare, presenting it as a struggle with Russia."
“In my opinion, your guest does not wish Ukraine well. <...> Well, not a big tragedy. The Lord's millstones grind inexorably, albeit slowly,” summed up Maxim Mogilnitsky.
Recall that on August 20, 2021, the head of Phanar arrived in Ukraine at the invitation of President Vladimir Zelensky. He was met by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, then the patriarch talked with the Head of State.
The religious actor from Phanar never came out to the thousands of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, who were waiting for him at the Verkhovna Rada on August 21 to ask their questions. The UOJ broadcast the event online.
