Metropolitan Theodosiy hospitalized after UOC cathedral seizure in Cherkasy

On October 17, the Archangel Michael Cathedral of the UOC in Cherkasy was seized by unidentified individuals in camouflage on their second attempt.

Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv, who arrived to support the faithful and help defend the church, was attacked and struck on the head. He was also sprayed with tear gas. After the assault on the cathedral, the bishop addressed the faithful, blessing them to leave the sanctuary and gather for prayer in private homes, and to seek medical attention for their injuries. Many believers experienced vision problems due to the tear gas, others suffered concussions.

According to the kozakTv1 telegram channel, Metropolitan Theodosiy was taken to the hospital after the attack.

As reported by the UOJ, the raiders in Cherkasy opened fire on the UOC believers.
