On November 28, under the chairmanship of Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynohradiv, the annual assembly of the deanery heads of the Khust Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) was held in Khust, Zakarpattia. According to the eparchy's press service, the diocesan council, led by the ruling hierarch, once again affirmed on behalf of the clergy and laity of the Khust Eparchy their loyalty to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and its Primate, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.

Metropolitan Mark emphasized the importance and necessity of adhering to the Resolutions of the Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church dated May 27, 2022.

The assembly reviewed the life and work of the diocese over the course of 2024 and discussed the critical importance of missionary work during these challenging times for both the Church and the nation.

"One of the most vital missions today is providing assistance to Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, to whom parishes of the diocese have repeatedly offered support, as well as helping people forced to flee their homes due to the war," the report stated.

The attendees also discussed ongoing social projects in the diocese, including the annual charity campaign "Oh, Who Loves Nicholas?" Christmas events, and other projects aimed at supporting those in special need of care.

Plans for launching a media project titled "Steeped in History, Glorified by God" were also deliberated. This initiative aims to showcase the lives of saints whose memory is venerated in the parishes and monasteries of the diocese.

Metropolitan Mark expressed gratitude to the deanery heads, clergy, and parishes of the eparchy for their efforts and the assistance provided to all who are in need. Furthermore, the hierarch encouraged the clergy and parishes to more actively publicize all events, initiatives, and projects of the Khust Eparchy in the media and on the Internet.

As the UOJ previously reported, a man in Khust was fined for criticizing the OCU on social media.
