Metropolitan Neophytos of Morphou of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, in an interview with Romanian priest Ciprian Mega, spoke about what Christians should do “in times of God’s wrath.”

The interview was published on the Ομιλίες Μητροπολίτου Μόρφου YouTube channel on December 9, though it was noted that the hierarch gave the interview on August 8, 2024.

Metropolitan Neophytos warned that Europe is turning into hell and a great war is approaching.

“You know what’s important right now?” he said. “What the Holy Scripture says: ‘Hide yourself until the wrath of the Lord passes.’ Hide somewhere with a Psalter, with the Divine Liturgy, with a few people around who can help you serve the Divine Liturgy, until God’s wrath passes.”

He emphasized, “We are now living in the times of God’s wrath. Those who do not understand this and try to offer solutions to social, political, or even ecclesiastical problems are, I think, deeply mistaken.”

According to the metropolitan, such individuals are still “bound by ideologies.” He urged, “Do not seek solutions to problems, whether ecclesiastical, political, social, or related to corruption… Don’t look for all this.”

“I’m telling you: fire is approaching. Gather in your parishes, your monasteries, your homes,” he stressed.

He also noted that “we must first nourish ourselves with the Orthodox faith, and then others will come – Chinese, Indians, Africans. Many of them, though not all, will want to receive this Orthodox faith. Even the Germans, as the prophets say, will seek our Orthodox faith.”

“Our task now is to become good disciples of the Orthodox saints,” concluded Metropolitan Neophytos.

Earlier, UOJ reported that according to Metropolitan Neophytos, “We are in for a war, which seems to start not with Ukraine, as was thought, but with the Middle East.”
