"Hierarch" Ruslan (Adrian) Kulik, who beat his neighbor in Kyiv last week, regrets the reputation and image losses for the OCU. He told about this to the Strana newspaper, which asked him for a comment.
After the public scandal around the incident with Kulik, on November 2, the OCU website published an order from Dumenko to dismiss the “hierarch” from performing his “bishop's duties” over the investigation term and “bless him to refrain from public worship”.
In a comment to reporters on this occasion, Kulik said that he was asking “everyone” for forgiveness, and tried to justify himself for attacking the woman with his fists.
“I confess that my act entailed reputational and image losses for the entire Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The only short explanation about the incident is that I stood up for a little woman before a bold hussy who, together with her boyfriend from Donetsk, have been morally and psychologically terrorizing me and my assistant for a long time,” the “hierarch” noted adding that he would not comment on these events anymore.
The UOJ wrote that in Kyiv, the "bishop" of the OCU beat a woman, a criminal case was opened. In turn, the "hierarch" said that the footage, where he strikes the woman, was a frame-up, and he "as a Christian and a man in his soul is complete peace."
At the same time, in the plot of the Ukrainian TV channel, which told about the incident, the offender was presented as the "bishop of the UOC", in which the Church published a refutation.
