The Council of Bishops of the Polish Orthodox Church, in its Christmas message, called for prayers for peace in Ukraine, the Holy Land, Asia, and Africa. The text of the message was published on the official website of the Polish Church, orthodox.pl.

On the eve of Christmas, the Council of Bishops addressed Polish clergy, monastics, faithful, youth, and children with a call to share the joyous news of salvation with their brethren.

"Let us sing carols at home, continuing this beautiful tradition to strengthen our faith and love for Christ and for one another. Renewing this spiritual, salvific event, let us entrust our cares and problems to God and ask Him for peace, which humanity so desperately needs – as we are experiencing wars in Ukraine, the Holy Land, Asia, and Africa," the message states.

The Polish Church noted that they are asking God to make the upcoming year, 2025, a blessed time filled with spiritual joy, wisdom, and peace. "May the Spirit of the Lord be with us – the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:2)," the Polish hierarchs wished their faithful.

As the UOJ previously reported, the Primate of the Polish Church met with lecturers from the Kyiv Academy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
