Deputies of the Ternopil Regional Council adopted an appeal to President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers to create a national pantheon of heroes in Kyiv, where the remains of the leaders of the OUN (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists) Stepan Bandera, Yevhen Konovalets and Andriy Melnyk will be reburied, the website of the regional council reports.
They also propose to transfer the remains of Philip Orlik, Bogdan Khmelnitsky, Simon Petliura and other historical figures to the pantheon-mausoleum in order to "perpetuate the memory of Ukrainians who gave their lives for freedom, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression." According to the plan of Ternopil deputies, the memorial complex is needed as evidence of the invincible spirit of the nation and should become a sacred place where "every Ukrainian would feel like a representative of a great nation, proud of its heroic past."
The regional council demands that the central authorities immediately begin the practical implementation of the project to build a national pantheon in Kyiv and to ensure that "prominent Ukrainian figures" are reburied in it.
As reported by the UOJ, Epiphany blessed the Right Sector for the creation of the Order of Bandera.
