Schema-Archimandrite Panteleimon (Voepel) Reposes in the Lord
Wayne, WV—The brotherhood of Holy Cross Monastery announced this morning the repose of Schema-Archimandrite Panteleimon (Voepel), who passed into eternal life on April 24th at 3:00 a.m.
With great sadness but also with joyful faith in the Resurrection of our Lord, we announce the repose of our beloved father in Christ, Schema-Archimandrite Panteleimon (Voepel)... He died peacefully at home, in the kellia where he has welcomed monks, clergy, and pilgrims for many years, surrounded by his devoted spiritual children.
His departure came peacefully as the final prayer of the Canon for the Departure of the Soul was read.
Following monastic tradition, his body was processed to the chapel, where the first Pannykhida was served, and then moved to the nave of the new church where it will remain until the funeral on Bright Saturday, April 26th.
The faithful are asked to pray for the repose of this devoted servant of Christ. May his memory be eternal! Christ is Risen!
