Yurash: Integration of Ukraine into EU is impossible without the Vatican

Andrei Yurash, a well-known opponent of the UOC and newly-minted Ambassador of Ukraine to the Vatican is sure that the country will not be able to integrate into the European Union without interaction with the RCC. He stated this during an interview with risu.ua.

According to Yurash, Ukraine is a state that considers itself a part of the Western civilized European world.

“Organic integration of Ukraine into the European Union without cooperation with the Holy See is impossible,” Yurash said.

At the same time, according to the Ambassador of the Vatican to Ukraine, the Apostolic See has its own interest in this cooperation: it is impossible to carry out a global mission in Eastern Europe without regard to Ukraine.

“To be honest, just a year ago, hardly anyone could have imagined that such a truly trusting character could arise in relations between the states,” Andrei Yurash expresses his surprise.

Recently, the UOJ wrote that information appeared on the Web that Ukraine was preparing to sign a concordat with the Vatican. As a result of the signing of this agreement, Ukraine will have to provide the Catholic Church with privileged conditions in comparison with the other confessions.
