African Exarchate сlerics: We were enslaved by the Church of Alexandria

In a letter to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and the Holy Synod, ten clerics of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa on behalf of all the clergy thanked for being accepted into the ROC and stated that "otherwise we would have continued to be slaves to the Church of Alexandria." This is reported by the website of the Patriarchate.

“Our hearts were filled with joy ... We want the whole world to know how grateful we are to you for extending a helping hand to us. Otherwise, we would have continued to be slaves to the Church of Alexandria, and we would have been ruled by a bishop who does not consider us worthy of even the slightest respect,” the priests noted.

The African clergy pledged “to be faithful, loyal and earnest, and to diligently perform their priestly duty. We will be building and developing the Church in Africa in praise of God.”

Priests of the African Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church wished Patriarch Kirill and Metropolitan Leonid many years and promised the latter that "in agreement with you, we will work to free Africa from schismatics."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that seven clerics in Nigeria moved to the Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
