Primate of UOC: Let's work hard in Lent to end war

On the Great Lent eve, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, addressed the faithful with a blessing for a special prayer rule for the sake of ending the war and establishing peace in Ukrainian land, reports the UOC Information and Educational Department.

According to the Archpastor, “the good prospect of Great Lent is to learn to live in peace with God and in harmony with one another”.

“I bless all the children of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church during Great Lent every day to read one chapter of the Holy Gospel and make three prostrations to end the war, to overcome hostility in our long-suffering Ukrainian land and preserve peace in the world,” Metropolitan Onuphry urged.

“Let's work to the best of our ability so that our souls are filled with joy for the sake of a peaceful life on earth and eternal salvation in Christ Jesus our Lord,” the Primate addressed the believers.

As reported, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry gave his blessing to hold a prayer service for peace in Ukraine on March 4 at 12:00 in all churches and monasteries of the UOC.
