Director of Cancer Center: We thank Romanian Church and UOC for their help

Irina Gontsa, Director of medical work of the Bukovyna Clinical Cancer Center in Chernivtsi, thanked the Romanian and Ukrainian Orthodox Churches for humanitarian assistance in the form of medicines for cancer patients, the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese of the UOC reports on its youtube channel.

According to the doctor, against the backdrop of stress due to hostilities in Ukraine and because of refugees, the number of cancer patients in the Bukovyna Cancer Center has increased.

“We have a lot of patients whom we accept from different parts of Ukraine,” said the director of medical work. “Oncological diseases do not like long intervals between treatments. Especially when patients are under such severe stress. Therefore, we have an increase in the number of patients. But all medications tend to run out.

Thanks to the fact that the humanitarian center of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese of the UOC delivered a truck of medical supplies from the Romanian Orthodox Church for the treatment of cancer patients, the Bukovyna Cancer Center can provide assistance to patients. “I want to thank the Orthodox Church, all Orthodox people who help with medicines,” said Irina Gontsa.

As the UOJ reported, the Chernivtsi diocese of the UOC sent cars with humanitarian aid to 7 cities of Ukraine.
