Monument to Saint Alexander Nevsky demolished in Kharkiv
A video has appeared on the Web showing the demolition of a monument to the Holy Right-Believing Grand Duke Alexander Nevsky in Kharkiv. The video with the moment of the monument being dropped from the pedestal was published by the Stranaua Telegram channel.
The video shows that the monument was dismantled using a utility vehicle. People in military uniforms watched the scene. After being thrown off the pedestal, part of the saint's sculpture shattered into pieces.
The monument to Alexander Nevsky in Kharkiv was erected in honor of the 350th anniversary of the city in August 2004.
Alexander Nevsky is a saint, politician and commander who has never lost a single battle in his entire life.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that protective structures for monuments to saints were installed in Kyiv.
