“Svoboda” party collects signatures to ban UOC in Ternopil region
Representatives of the All-Ukrainian Union “Svoboda” in the Ternopil region have begun collecting signatures in support of bill No 7204 "On banning the Moscow Patriarchate on the territory of Ukraine", reports the Telegram channel of the Chernivtsi and Bukovyna Eparchy.
Calling for a ban on the Church, the head of the council and leader of “Svoboda” in the Ternopil region, Mikhail Golovko, said: "Spiritual unity is the key to our success and victory! I urge all residents of our region to support the petition and put their signature in support of the demand to ban the UOC-MP in Ukraine!".
The eparchy reminded Golovko that there is no Moscow Patriarchate or UOC MP in Ukraine and that the UOC Council declared full independence and autonomy on 27 May 2022.
"The man is either so mentally restricted or deliberately incites discord in the country", says a comment on the Telegram channel on the activities of the head of the Ternopil "Svoboda", adding that "not for nothing in the last elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine this political association barely won 2.15% of the Ukrainian vote".
The eparchy's Telegram channel also noted that while the people of Ukraine are fighting, politicians like Golovko "are already preparing for the next election and PR their bravery 1,000 km away from the front".
As reported, according to the human rights activist, the conflicts around the UOC churches are organized by the All-Ukrainian Union “Svoboda”.
