Cyprus Metropolitan, who did not recognize OCU, visits the head of Phanar

On July 25, 2022, the bishop of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, Metropolitan Isaiah of Tamassos and Orinis, visited Patriarch Bartholomew, reports romfea.gr.

According to the publication, the head of Phanar warmly welcomed Metropolitan Isaiah, and the hierarchs exchanged opinions on various issues. A tour around the Patriarchal Church of George the Victorious was organized for the bishop of the Church of Cyprus. Metropolitan Isaiah assured Patriarch Bartholomew of the sincere respect and love that he and his clergy have for the head of Phanar, and announced the beginning of pilgrimage missions from the Tamassos Metropolis to Constantinople.

At the end of the meeting, Metropolitan Isaiah and the head of Phanar exchanged gifts.

Earlier, the Metropolitan of Tamassos stated that the primacy of the Patriarchate of Constantinople is the primacy of service, rather than power.
