Speaker of the UOC Department for External Church Relations: Cross Procession does not pursue any political aims

Cross procession is a demonstration by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of its might and prayer. It does not pursue any political targets, it is apolitical. It was reported by Deputy Chair of the Department of External Relations of the UOC archpriest Nikolai Danilevich at the on-air UOJ Telethon on All-Ukrainian Cross Procession-2016.

Aims of the Cross Procession are being distorted, he said. “There have appeared some publications which are set to defame the goal of the Cross Procession, to communicate political aims to it, to say: here you are – “Kremlin priests are heading for Kiev but should be heading for Moscow instead,” outraged Fr. Nikolai.

Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich underlined that believers are heading for Kiev, since it is a spiritual center of our Church.
