10 thousand believers came out for Cross Procession-2016 in Odessa (VIDEO)
On 12 July nearly 10 thousand people got together for a Cross Procession in Odessa. It is reported by Infocenter.
The procession began with chime-ringing of the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Odessa. Then the Cross Procession, accompanied by the miraculous icon of the Mother of God, headed for the Transfiguration Cathedral, followed by the moleben prayer for peace in Ukraine.
Mayor of the city Gennadiy Trihanov and member of the Parliament Sergey Kivalov participated in the Procession.
It will be reminded on the 3rd of July began All-Ukrainian Cross Procession which will cover dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with prayer for Ukraine. The Procession starts from two points – from the East (the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra) and the West (the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra) on July 9. Two streams of our faithful will move towards each other to meet in Kiev on Vladimir Hill on the feast day of St. Prince Vladimir, Equal-to-the-Apostles, and Christening of Rus and then to head for the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
