In Krasnovolia OCU members attempt to oust priest with children from house
After the seizure of the temple, Archpriest Andrei Genaliuk began to hold services in the church house, in which he was registered and lives with his family
The rector of the seized St. Michael’s Church in the village of Krasnovolia is being illegally evicted out of the church house where he lives and is registered with his wife and children, reports the cleric of the Volyn Eparchy, the rector of the Holy Cross Exaltation Church of vlg. Kolki Archpriest Alexander Bilinsky.
“Right now in Krasnovolia there is an attempt of illegal entry into the house where the priest lives,” Father Alexander wrote on his Facebook page. “A group of people, including a priest of the UOC KP, who is the newly appointed rector of the Krasnovolia church, is trying to forcefully, illegally, without a court decision, throw the family of priest Andrei Genaliuk onto the street, despite the fact that Fr. Andrei asked to wait with the eviction until the end of May, when the school year is over, because the children who are registered and live in the house go to the local school. Fortunately, so far this arbitrariness has been prevented by the police, who convince an angry mob not to violate the law.”
As the UOJ reported, OCU supporters seized St. Michael’s Church of the UOC in the village of Krasnovolia on January 13, 2019, after the “meeting for the transfer to the OCU”. At the same time, the UOC religious community remained faithful to the canonical Church and maintains liturgical activities. Archpriest Andrei Genaliuk did not leave his community after the seizure of the temple and began to hold services in the church house, where he lives with his family.
