On March 13, a commission from the reserve began its work in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which carried out an audit on the territory of the Near Caves. This was announced by Metropolitan Varsonofy, who faced the auditors, on Facebook.
As it turned out, the commission came to check the Lavra without any documents or prior notifications of the hierarchy.
“Together with Vladyka Pavel, I wrote down an appeal about the violation of legal procedures, as well as a call to our believers to intensify prayer and stand for our common Sanctuary, which they want to illegally take away from the monks of the Lavra,” wrote Metropolitan Varsonofy.
As the UOJ reported, Oleksand Tkachenko believes that the expulsion of the UOC from the Lavra is “a natural regular process,” since the UOC did not declare independence from the ROC.
