Polish President congratulates Orthodox Christians on Christmas Day

On 7 January 2024, Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda congratulated the faithful of the Polish Orthodox Church and other Eastern Churches on the Feast of the Nativity of Christ. The greetings were published on the website of the Presidential Chancellery.
On the occasion of the Lord's Nativity, the head of State wished Orthodox Christians prosperity, health and reconciliation to all those who gather around His crib these days. The Polish President wish the faithful a lot of joy in experiencing this special time together in an atmosphere of family warmth, understanding and mutual respect.
"May the Good News about Jesus Christ soothe your worries, give you strength and fill your hearts with true hope for the future. May unique meetings at the Christmas table, the most beautiful wishes and the unique atmosphere of Christmas strengthen your bonds, uniting the entire community of believers in harmony," Andrzej Duda said.
"Please accept our warmest wishes for prosperity, happiness and peace in 2024. We wish you the fulfilment of your dreams, implementation of your plans and fruitful work for the good of your communities and our entire Republic of Poland," he added.
On 7 January, the Orthodox Church celebrated the Nativity of our Lord. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not publish any address or greetings on the occasion of the Feast, which is celebrated by millions of citizens in Ukraine.
As reported, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry officiated at the Christmas Liturgy at the St Agapitus Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
