The participation of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople in the creation of a non-canonical OCU in Ukraine made him an undesirable person in our country, the historian, academician, honorary director of the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, member of the Academy of Europe Petro Tolochko told RIA Novosti.
The scientist considers the actions of Patriarch Bartholomew to interfere in the church affairs of Ukraine "impudent and brutal". Therefore, he signed an open letter from well-known figures of science, culture and sports of Ukraine to the head of Phanar with an appeal to postpone his visit to our country for the celebration of Independence Day.
“It seems to me that such an impudent, brutal interference in our Ukrainian affairs makes Patriarch Bartholomew a non-handsshakable and undesirable person in Ukraine,” said the academician of the National Academy of Sciences. “I signed this letter because I believe that a few years ago Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople created the OCU in Ukraine illegally, without asking the people.”
As reported, famous Orthodox Ukrainians wrote an open letter to the Phanar head.
