Orthodox Studies Institute (OSI) announces new course on history of the Antiochian Church

The program will run every Thursday at 12:00 p.m. Central Time from May 8–29, 2025.

Antioch: A Bridge Between Worlds will trace the Antiochian Church’s story from the 7th-century Muslim conquest to the modern day, highlighting the Church’s resilience and adaptability in the face of political upheaval, religious persecution, and cultural transformation. Special focus will be given to its unique role in Christian-Muslim engagement, its Arabic theological heritage, and its path from the Levant to North America.

Founded to provide accessible, faithful education in Orthodox Christianity, the Orthodox Studies Institute is known for its high-quality, scholarly-yet-pastoral offerings that appeal to both newcomers and seasoned faithful alike.

Instructor Dr. Samuel Noble, a noted scholar of Arabic Christian thought, will guide participants through key saints and moments that shaped the Antiochian witness—bridging the ancient apostolic foundation of Antioch with its present role in the global Orthodox world.

For those looking to better understand the history and spiritual depth of the Church that first bore the name "Christian," this course offers a rare and timely opportunity.

Each session includes a live lecture and Q&A and will also be available as a recording on OSI’s Mighty Networks platform.

More information on the course and registration are available on the OSI website.
