ROCOR Releases Video Update of Synodal Residence Renovations

Video update says ROCOR is taking the "first steps" towards restoring the historic Synodal Residence.
NEW YORK—In the video update, Metropolitan Nicholas, Primate of the ROCOR, announces that since December 2024, over $334,000 has been raised towards the renovation. The First Hierarch of ROCOR says, "I feel this joy because our campaign to save our Synod continues."
In total, the video says, over $900,000 has been raised.
The Synodal Residence has served as the heart of ROCOR since the Synod relocated to America in the wake of the Second World War. The residence sits on prime real estate adjacent to Central Park in New York City. Over the last several decades, the once magnificent mansion—which contains the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign—has racked up a long list of expensive repair needs.
In total, the restoration will cost $15,000,000. The Synod decided to launch a fundraising campaign to restore the building in several stages. Now that the initial investment has been made, the "first steps" towards restoration are underway.
