Hellenic College Holy Cross Alumnus Returns to Present Memoir of Alaskan Pilgrimage
Alumnus Anthony Linderman returned to HCHC to share his memoir recounting a spiritually transformative year on Alaska’s Spruce Island.
BROOKLINE — Hellenic College Holy Cross (HCHC) alumnus Anthony Linderman recently returned to campus to present his new memoir, A Year in the Company of Angels, recounting his transformative year on St. Herman’s Spruce Island in Alaska.
Linderman reflected on how his HCHC education shaped both his spiritual journey and his writing. “The incredible student-to-professor ratio allowed me more access to my professors than I’d ever had before,” he said, noting that their wisdom and passion inspired him to pursue beauty and meaning in his own life.
His memoir captures the numinous moments of everyday life on Spruce Island, where the simplicity of summer activities revealed profound spiritual insights. Returning to campus, introduced by former professor Dr. Tim Patitsas, Linderman described the visit as a “beautiful circle,” sharing the treasures of his experiences while honoring his alma mater.
