Bsp. Luke of Syracuse to Speak at St. Herman Conference

Bishop Luke of Syracuse will be a keynote speaker at the 2025 St. Herman Youth Conference in Alvin, Texas, from December 29 to January 2, focusing on 20th- and 21st-century ROCOR saints and the call to holiness.

ALVIN, TX — The Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America (ROCOR) has announced that His Grace Bsp. Luke of Syracuse, the abbot of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, New York, will serve as a keynote speaker at the 2025 St. Herman Youth Conference.

The annual gathering, organized for Orthodox youth and young adults, will take place from December 29, 2025, to January 2, 2026, at Camp Mohawk in Alvin, TX.

Building on last year’s theme of the universal call to holiness, the 2025 conference will examine the lives and teachings of several “great lights” of the Russian Church Abroad in the 20th and 21st centuries, offering inspiration for contemporary struggles toward sainthood.

Attendees will participate in divine services, including a solemn New Year’s Vigil and Midnight Divine Liturgy on December 31-January 1. 

Bishop Luke, known for his pastoral guidance and leadership at America’s oldest ROCOR monastery and seminar. He is expected to deliver addresses drawing from the monastic and hierarchical witness of recent ROCOR saints and elders.

Registration is open through December 1, 2025, at $225. After that date, late registration will cost $300. The conference is open to participants aged 13 and up. Strict health protocols remain in place, and purchase-protection insurance is recommended.

The St. Herman Conference continues its decades-long tradition of fostering Orthodox faith and fellowship among the Church’s rising generation.
